Fathom to Notion: Sessary vs Zapier
Fathom’s official Notion page still sends you to Zapier or Make. That is the right tool if you already orchestrate many apps. It is the extra bill if you only need one row in the Notion database you pick.

What the official path actually is
Fathom does not ship a Notion database picker. The official Notion integration page tells you to pick a workflow automation platform, connect both apps, and turn it on. Zapier, Make, and n8n all have Fathom + Notion recipes. Those pages currently occupy the query “Fathom Notion Zapier.” None of them is a native Fathom feature.
Zapier’s common template is “new Fathom AI summary → create Notion database item.” You keep a Zapier account, a task quota, and usually one hard-coded database. When to stay on Zapier, Make, or n8n
- Stay on Zapier if you already pay Professional and this zap is one of many, or if one Fathom meeting must also post to Slack, HubSpot, or email.
- Stay on Zapier if you need each Fathom action item as its own Notion task. Sessary writes those lines onto the meeting page, not as separate database items.
- Use Make if you already build scenarios there. Fathom’s official page names Make next to Zapier; Sessary does not replace Make.
- Use n8n if you want to self-host the workflow and you are comfortable maintaining HTTP nodes. That is a different buyer than a solo consultant who refuses a second SaaS login.
When Sessary is the cheaper pipe
Independent consultants and researchers usually want “this client’s Sessions (or Quotes) database, these fields, no second automation account.” That is the gap Zapier templates do not advertise: they can point at a database, but you still rent the platform. Sessary is $9/month after a 30-day trial with no card, or $79 early-bird lifetime for the first 50 customers. Payments go through Creem.
If Fathom later ships a native Notion database picker with field mapping, this comparison ends — use Fathom. Until that page stops sending people to Zapier or Make, the dedicated pipe is the missing picker.
